Features

- Afinion Project-Viewer opens files in the original Microsoft format (mpp) and in
databases (Access, SQL, Project Server). It is compatible with Project 98 to
2007.
- Afinion Project-Viewer opens files from SAP PS. You don't even need a SAP
GUI.
- Afinion Project-Viewer supports Excel
- If the project manager has used custom views (e.g. a company specific view),
these will be displayed in Afinion Project-Viewer.
- Afinion Project-Viewer is the only viewer, that displays the dependencies in the
GANTT view.
- Afinion Project-Viewer adopts the bar chart formats and labelling as defined in
the Microsoft Project GANTT view.
- Afinion Project-Viewer allows free definition of the date format in the tables.

Time Recording
|
- There are two modes for Time Recording:
Mode 1: All members of the resource pool are allowed to report work hours.
Mode 2: Only assigned resources are allowed to report work hours.
- Graphical indicators show planned versus actual data in Microsoft Project.
Employee cost can be calculated in Microsoft Project directly.
- Every user immediately sees his work portfolio in the Afinion Project-Viewer and
can plan his work accordingly.
- Progress reporting does not modify the original plan as e.g. in Web-Access.
- Time Recording in Afinion Project-Viewer can be used in conjunction with SAP R/3
CO and PS modules. Costs can be transferred from SAP or other ERP systems.

- Afinion Project-Viewer can store all activities, which are assigned to a
resource directly into the Outlook task folder of the resource. The resource can
choose if all tasks over all projects in the database or all tasks of one
project shall be exported.
- Employee cost can be calculated directly in Microsoft Project, using the
reported hours.

Other Features

- Afinion Project-Viewer runs as a Java application, so that you do not need a
complex installation. You neither need a browser or any other viewer.
- Afinion Project-Viewer runs on Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and Unix. The Windows
distribution contains Sun Java runtime, the other versions require a separate
Java installation. The required Java version can be downloaded free from the Sun
Java webpage.
- Plans can be printed in sizes from A4 to A0, only limited by the available
printers and plotters.
- Afinion Project-Viewer contains several common languages. Additional languages
can easily be added on request.
- The application supports Western, Korean, Chinese and Japanese character sets.
